The greatest feature that distinguishes man from animals is the desire of man to improve quality of life. Curing and preventing diseases is the most important step to improve the quality of life. Medicine and mankind have been inseparable since times immemorial; and the human brain is always occupied in probing into the intricacies of different aspects of human health, hygiene and medicine. Pharmacists play a key role in health care system through knowledge based research, manufacture and distribution of quality drugs and pharmaceuticals.

With the above thought BPKM established its degree pharmacy college viz. Maliba Pharmacy College in the picturesque Campus of Gopal Vidyanagar, Bardoli-Mahuva road Dist- Surat and the college commenced functioning on 1st Oct.2000 by the generousness of Shri Naranbhai Patel, a visionary and a legend.

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, the Directorate of Technical Education, Govt. of Gujarat and the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), New Delhi have approved this college. The College is affiliated to Gujarat Technological University, Ahemdabad.

The institute provides excellent learning environment. It has an excellent infrastructure with ergonomically designed auditorium, seminar hall and classrooms equipped with computers and modern teaching aids.

Well-equipped library with approximately 3500 Pharmacy related books, 50 periodicals and journals , CDs and video cassettes with wi-fi Technology.

Goals / Objectives

  • To create an enabling environment that would encourage and support college's endeavor for excellence so that over a period of time it reaches international level of quality.
  • To develop quality manpower (pharmacy professional) in areas of high international demand to give India a comparative advantage in international trade.
  • To develop strong linkages between the College and the community.
  • To encourage private investment in starting new courses of high quality in areas of national and international demand.
  • To develop alternative modes of delivery including distance-mode and computer-assisted and web-based learning systems to offer opportunities of skills and knowledge up-gradation to students, working professionals and all those who can benefit from such delivery system.
  • To provide best possible infrastructure, competent teachers and teaching - learning processes to produce graduates and post-graduates at accepted levels of competence in knowledge, skills and attitude so that they can function as educators, scientists, pharmacists, health care professionals and function in pharmaceutical organization.
